Sales Representative

Our sales managers will sell heavy construction equipment from leading manufactures such as Case. This position is responsible for maintaining strong business relationships with current customers and developing new business. The territory for this position covers the Charlotte area of, NC.

Essential functions of the Sales Representative position are:

  • Insure that all accounts within an assigned territory are familiar with the company, its products and its services
  • Secures orders, studies product population, locates new prospects
  • Helps customers solve problems, provides technical assistance as needed, keeps customer informed on new developments
  • Maintains a record of all calls, completes reports as required, works according to plan, follows up on all leads, contract lettings, and inquires
  • Develops a marketing plan within the assigned territory to increase market share and increase the account base

Requirements include:

  • A self-starter, independent, goal oriented individual
  • College degree preferred

Service Technician

Our service technicians are responsible for repairing machinery and components correctly and quickly. The ideal candidate will be able to troubleshoot problems to diagnose and repair heavy construction equipment in a safe and timely manner. Branch Manager

Hills Machinery is seeking an experienced Branch Manager to lead its Charlotte, NC location. The Branch Manager is in charge of the overall operation of the Charlotte facility and must manage all business objectives for the branch.

Essential functions of the Branch Manager position are:

  • Profit and loss responsibilities for the branch
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with customers
  • Manage the daily branch operations including product delivery, services and product support for new and used equipment, plus oversee the parts and service departments
  • Motivate branch employees and ensure adequate and ongoing training of all branch personnel for required skills to carry out the business strategy
  • Perform additional duties as required to achieve company goals and increase overall company profitability

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry related experience
  • Strong organizational, leadership and management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills

PSSR Sales Position

Summary

The focus of the PSSR is to 1) Aggressively cover our existing Hills Machinery Company customer base with the emphasis of increasing market share of parts and service sales.  2) Expand our existing market size by aggressively promoting the sale of competitive commodities such as undercarriage, tires, buckets, batteries, etc with both Case and Non-Case customers.  Customer recognition of our total product lines and support services for all makes will be your daily commitment.  Superior customer satisfaction is your objective. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Aggressively promote the sale of parts and service through the use of on-site sales calls, out bound phone calls, fax quotes and email.
  • Identify new parts and service opportunities with current and prospective customers.
  • Development and maintenance of a product support call schedule on all assigned accounts for the purpose of generating sales volume.
  • Completion and scheduled submission of itineraries, work plans, call reports, expense accounts, etc. to management on a weekly basis.
  • Distribution and promotion of parts and service marketing programs.
  • Aggressive marketing of monthly specials.
  • Prompt and efficient handling of customer complaints in cooperation with Parts and Service Managers.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of a professional personal appearance.
  • Effective utilization of sales tools and techniques necessary for reaching established sales goals.
  • Cooperation with territory sales representatives, Parts Manager, and Service Manager in carrying out plans for combined calls to assigned accounts.
  • Cover parts counter responsibilities when department is shorthanded.
  • Other duties as assigned consistent with the position.

 

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent and basic math skills.
  • 3-5 years sales experience.
  • Valid Driver’s License and must meet auto insurability requirements.
  • Prior competitive construction equipment experience helpful.

  • Ability to organize projects, priorities, and time management.
  • Critical level of attention to detail.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills to work successfully with the general public, as well as other employees.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and accurately accomplishes work assignments under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to understand and process service documentation and adhere to service policies and procedures
  • Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret common correspondence and effectively present information to top management or public groups.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest and commissions.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages and ratios to practical situations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Understanding of standard hours to conform to warranty standards and customer expectations.

Parts Counter Salesperson

Responsibilities: This position will report to the Parts Manager and is responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Customer parts sales
  • Customer parts order processing
  • Phone sales
  • In store sales and merchandising
  • Shipping and receiving

Requirements: The ideal candidate will have equivalent experience in parts sales but we will train the right person. The candidate must have strong skills in sales, excellent communication abilities, customer service expertise, and good computer and systems knowledge.
